Dans le calendrier r\u00e9publicain fran\u00e7ais, le 8e<\/sup>\u00a0jour du mois de flor\u00e9al, souvent notre 27 avril, \u00e9tait d\u00e9nomm\u00e9 jour du champignon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 1891, l\u2019Atlas des champignons comestibles et v\u00e9n\u00e9neux<\/a><\/em> de L. Dufour rassemble \u00ab\u00a080 planches colori\u00e9es repr\u00e9sentant 191 champignons communs en France, avec leur description, les moyens de reconna\u00eetre les bonnes et les mauvaises esp\u00e8ces et de nombreuses recettes culinaires\u00a0\u00bb. Parmi ces superbes planches, deux concernent les coprins\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme l’\u00e9tymologie de son nom l’indique, ce champignon se pla\u00eet sur tout sol riche en mati\u00e8res organiques, m\u00eame sur nos pelouses urbaines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il a d\u2019abord une silhouette en \u0153uf qui s\u2019allonge puis s\u2019ouvre en cloche. Il porte un chapeau blanc couvert de petites m\u00e8ches retrouss\u00e9es, d\u2019o\u00f9 l\u2019\u00e9pith\u00e8te sp\u00e9cifique de \u00ab chevelu \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une fois cueilli, il faut le consommer tr\u00e8s vite, avant que les lamelles sous son chapeau ne brunissent et que le champignon ne se d\u00e9lite en une flaque noire comme de l\u2019encre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En 1902, il inspire \u00e0 Gall\u00e9 sa c\u00e9l\u00e8bre lampe \u00ab\u00a0Les Coprins\u00a0\u00bb, dont un exemplaire se trouve au Mus\u00e9e de l\u2019\u00c9cole de Nancy\u00a0:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle repr\u00e9sente trois champignons \u00e0 divers stades de croissance, illustrant ainsi les trois \u00e2ges de la vie (la jeunesse, l’adulte et la maturit\u00e9), et elle a donn\u00e9 naissance aux c\u00e9l\u00e8bres \u00ab\u00a0lampes champignons\u00a0\u00bb de l\u2019Art nouveau nanc\u00e9ien.<\/p>\n\n\n
